Javascript Developer (Discovery Tools Team)

ChemAxon is looking for a skilled front-end JavaScript developer to work with us in our Budapest based office. Our company is a leading cheminformatics software and solution provider with its clients mostly coming from the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Our new colleague is going to work in the Calculators and Discovery Tools Team, which maintains and develops property calculators and chemical library analysis tools. The calculators predict important physico-chemical properties (e.g. pKa, logP/D) for drug design processes. The library analysis tools perform searching, filtering and clustering large chemical databases based on different molecular fingerprints and descriptors.

Your tasks will be:

  • Designing and developing a novel web application in full time
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure sustainable integration with other application modules
  • Maintain and continuously improve code quality

Experience, skills and knowledge you should bring to us:

  • Excellent Javascript programming skills and experience with Javascript libraries and frameworks (AngularJS, ReactJS, Backbone, jQuery, etc…)
  • Good written and verbal communication in English
  • Front-end build processes
  • Excellent collaboration skills

Extras that we would appreciate:

  • Good user interface design skills
  • Experience in the following technologies: Flux, D3, Gulp, Browserify, Selenium
  • Knowledge in agile development and software testing
  • BSc or higher degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related field preferred
  • Interest in learning and adopting new tools and techniques
  • Experience with writing Javascript libraries and plugins
  • Openness to work on backend side application
