You will be joining our innovative Sales group that operates internationally, with regional teams based in San Diego, Boston, Budapest (Hungary), and Basel (Switzerland), along with distributors in the Asia Pacific region. About this opportunity:

The EU Sales Director is accountable for Chemaxon sales strategy and operation in Europe offering proper solutions to the customers’ needs while ensuring an appropriate margin for the company. In line with the company strategy, the sales operation uses the most relevant sales channels and sales techniques to reach the targeted customers while establishing long term, successful collaborations with business partners on the market.

Your tasks will include:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets
  • Achieve objectives through effective planning and measuring: setting measurable goals considering market fit and company strategy, analyzing data on past performance and projecting future performance
  • Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their objectives and needs.
  • Coordinate and develop sales activities in European markets
  • Support product validation with early adopters
  • Provide feedback from the market to main stakeholders
  • Ensure appropriate quality of sales pipeline replicating the forecast
  • Regular reporting/presenting/info sharing from overall sales performance and plans from the assigned territory
  • Oversee the performance management of the sales team members
  • Ensure the sales team works cross-functionally
  • Frequent travel in Europe is required

Experience, skills and knowledge we look for:

  • At least 7 years sales experience in life science or in software industry
  • At least 5 years experience in managing sales teams
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Up to date knowledge on various sales techniques and best practices
  • Up to date knowledge about the competitive landscape
  • Familiar with market regulations and territorial challenges
  • Confident knowledge of customer segment characteristics
  • Confident in working with numbers and in making sense of metrics and figures
  • Collaborative and cooperative
  • Able to effectively share the sales strategy, motivate and inspire the sales team
  • Responsible, proactive and respectful personality
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills
