Javascript Developer (Plexus Charts)

ChemAxon is looking for JavaScript developers with passion for creating cutting edge technology for the life sciences industry in our friendly office in Budapest. Our products are used in Japan, USA, and Europe in drug discovery, mostly by medium and large pharmaceutical companies. Now we are investigating the hosted solution of our software to increase our user base within the small company market. This is an opportunity to work in an international multi-team environment of skilled, creative developers who understand the value of writing clean and tested code.

In Charts team we are all about visualization of scientific data. Our current aim is to bring interactive and feature-rich charting into our query and report tool, Plexus Connect. For this magic to happen we are using D3.js and React, topped with Sass, packed together with Webpack, published with npm.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing a web application frontend in JavaScript
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure sustainable integration with other application modules
  • Maintain and continuously improve code quality

What you should bring to us

  • Excellent Javascript programming skills and experience with Javascript libraries and frameworks
  • Good written and verbal communication in English
  • Front-end build processes
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • UX focused attitude

Nice to have skill-set, experience we would appreciate

  • Good user interface design skills
  • Experience with React
  • Knowledge in agile development and software testing
  • BSc or higher degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related field preferred
  • Interest in learning and adopting new tools and techniques
  • Experience with writing Javascript libraries and plugins
  • Openness to work on backend parts occasionally (depending on the chosen team)
