Project Manager - Contractor

Budapest, Hungary

We are looking for a Project Manager on a contract basis for a 6 months to 1 year period.

Your tasks will be

  • Form the project management process at ChemAxon that is conform with our company culture and which is scalable
  • Provide guidance, training and mentorship to less experienced project managers
  • Manage ChemAxon projects with one of our top 20 Pharma clients
    • Drive specification / pre-sales activities
    • Drive estimation involving stakeholders
    • Create schedules and specify deadlines for the project
    • Facilitate the project pricing involving the account managers and product managers
    • Create project plans including resource plans and budget
    • Drive project documentation activities
    • Facilitate feasibility check - technical, legal and organizational
    • Coordinate technical consultancy to the business and to the customer
    • Organize the delivery
    • Manage risks and issues and check the project environment
    • Define project implementation methodology with focus on:
      • Prioritization of project related tasks
      • Risk handling
    • Monitoring, visualizing and reporting the status of the project, make it transparent
    • Agreement on the roles and tasks of the stakeholders
  • Project related communication
    • Single point of contact between the stakeholders including the customer
    • Answer cross-functional questions
    • Organize meetings (internal and with customers)
    • Ensure communication, knowledge and information sharing between stakeholders
    • Keep track of open questions

Experience, skills and knowledge we appreciate

  • Project management knowledge and expertise
  • Relevant degree (MSc in IT or Economics)
  • At least 3 years practical IT project management experience (experience in Cheminformatis is an advantage)
  • Experience in the management of complex projects (team size 10+; multiple teams/products involved)
  • Experience with project planning and tracking tools
  • Deep knowledge of project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Understand the life cycle of projects
  • Ability to handle more projects in parallel
  • Negotiation skills
  • Facilitation skills
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Long term thinking - not only focusing on short term iterations
