Gridlogics announces launch of Patent iNSIGHT Pro - CHEMPAT™ Edition

November 15, 2010, Pune, India - Gridlogics, a patent analytics solutions specialist and the company behind Patent iNSIGHT Pro, announced that it has partnered with ChemAxon to enable a specialized edition of the product (CHEMPAT™ Edition) suited for Chemical and biopharmaceutical companies. The CHEMPAT Edition combines the Patent research, analysis and reporting capability of Patent iNSIGHT Pro with the Chemical extraction, storage, management and search capabilities of ChemAxon’s products JChem Base and Name to Structure. Patent iNSIGHT Pro CHEMPAT Edition allows users to extract chemical names intelligently from the text of patents and scientific records and then provides various tools to manage, filter, report and analyze the extracted chemicals. In case of patents compounds coming from Bibliography, Claims and description are identified separately which makes it easier to investigate the record set from a patentability, infringement or freedom to operate perspective. The product uses JChem Base to store the extracted set of chemical names, conduct structure searching within them and display them as images or export them in various formats compatible with other cheminformatic tools. The CHEMPAT Edition is available in Basic and Full versions. The Basic version is targeted towards day to day activities of patent professionals in chem-bio-pharma companies whose needs are more of extraction, search, filter and in-context reporting of chemical entities present in patent and journal records. The full Edition allows analyst to further conduct different types of analysis suitable for medicinal chemistry projects such as drug discovery and new chemical entity research. “Exporting structures from chemical databases can be quite expensive and new records are not always available quick enough. The rapid increase in rate of patent filings only makes this worse.
