John McNeil & Company have developed compound search and registration services using JChem Base. We have also developed web forms and applications using Marvin. At the 2009 UGM, we presented an old-school Java Sever Page approach to generating an HTML compound registration form. In this presentation we will show the design, and a bit of the code, for a search and registration application that runs entirely in the web browser. We will explain how we went from specification to application using Behavior-Driven-Development. This approach yielded an interactive and intuitive user interface with excellent test coverage, enabling easy customization and upgrades. Software libraries used include Marvin, JQuery, Backbone, and Jasmine. Download slides
