About the team

For chemists around the world, Marvin means the top software they would pick to draw, edit or visualize a molecule. Hundreds of thousands of users rely on its chemical intelligence in more than 130 countries. Now, we discover and implement the next generation of chemical editors. Be part of redesigning the way of drawing and the user experience.

We are looking for an enthusiastic chemist with an interest in software testing who would join our cross-functional agile team. You will have the opportunity to ensure the quality of new features, and interactions, use your creative side to write user documentation and contribute to user experience research. You will be welcome to bring your ideas to the table and help us create a world-class product, Marvin Pro. You will be involved in the end-to-end software product and solutions development process, including operations.

About your responsibilities

  • Accountable for testing domain-specific use cases

  • Collaborate with the team to define a testing strategy for the product

  • Create a test plan for specific scenarios (for example molecules, real-life chemical drawing scenarios)

  • Contribute to acceptance criteria for user stories

  • Execute manual tests

  • Collaborate with developers to create automated tests (provide input)

  • Update and maintain documentation (user manuals) of products

  • Provide support in domain related questions to the team, insights on chemists’ workflows

  • Participate in meetings and discussions within the development team, their product group or the company. Contribute to these discussions according to their best knowledge and capabilities.

Experience, skills and knowledge you should bring to us

  • Chemistry background, at least a Bsc degree

  • Excellent level of written and good level of oral English

  • Good communication skills

  • Attention to detail, organized person

  • Tech-savvy mindset, interest in software development, especially in testing

  • Team player attitude

Bonus skills that will help you hit the ground running

  • Experience in using a chemical drawing tool before

  • Experience in industry, specifically knowledge on how software are used

  • Experience in testing or documentation writing
