Effective August 8th 2023, all new releases of Chemaxon software will require Java 17 or later. This change is being made as Java 11 is nearing its End of Life date (September 2023) and our goal to ensure that the latest security and code improvements are available to you. Java 17 was released 2 years ago and has proven to be a good, reliable version. We encourage our users to upgrade their runtime environments to this version.
This change does not affect the Mercury LTS release or any previously released version’s software requirements or support period.
The expected EOL date of Java 17 is September 2026. Well before that date, all of our software will be executable on more recent Java versions.
