As a very large chemical company with a diverse portfolio of businesses and products, The Dow Chemical Company requires a registry application able to accommodate many different kinds of chemicals and mixtures. The existing registry system was divided between chemicals and text with limited access and an obsolete in-house database. Dow worked with ChemAxon and DeltaSoft to integrate the two databases containing over 450,000 registered chemicals into a new system. The project was a success and now over 8,000 new chemical substances are being registered annually; over 1,000 researchers have direct access to the registry application. Details will be provided on the project leading to a successful migration of the registry database.
