Short video describing how to perform chemical computations using the JChem Chemical Terms field.

Welcome to the fourth training video of the JChem for SharePoint Installation and Usage series.
This episode will show and explain how to perform chemical computations using the JChem Chemical Terms field.
We will use as a sample an already imported list (see the video on how to import chemical files into SharePoint lists).
Let's navigate to the NCI100 list, which is already populated with a structure column.
The JChem Chemical Terms field can be used for chemical terms which return primitive results: integers, strings, booleans.
Let's add a new Chemical Term field which returns results as integers.
Select the target column to be the Structure column from the list.
Type the desired chemical term - in this case, atomCount().
Save and return to the list.
The column should contain the atomCount information for each item in the list.
Now let's add a Chemical Term field which returns results as strings.
Select the target column to be the Structure column from the list.
Type the desired chemical term - in this case, name().
Save and return to the list.
The column should contain the IUPAC name information for each item in the list.
Editing an item causes the chemical terms fields to update upon saving.
Finally, you can use on both columns the native SharePoint ordering and filtering capabilities.
